Marketing Methods Explained:

A lot of times, when you go in and make updates to a site or a marketing campaign, you will see an influx of traffic via search engines. The search engines will come to your site, note the changes, and reapply their algorithm to your site to give it a new ranking. Every time it comes back, it will reevaluate and the longer there isn’t anything new, the lower your rankings will get. That is why it is important to keep fresh content on the site as much as possible.

On Page Optimization

The on page optimization will help direct traffic throughout the site and give the search engine the information it needs to help determine your ranking. It is pretty self explanatory and is usually the point at which most people stop their search engine optimization.

Off Page Optimization:

Off page optimization is a means to drive those search engines to your site and keep them visiting your site on a frequent basis. Directory submissions are a way to place a link on an authority site with a higher Page Rank than your site. Page Rank is the rank that is given to your site by Google and helps determine your site’s authority in the search engine world as a whole. Basically what you want to do is have your keywords pointing back to your site from higher authority sites.

Directory Submissions:

With directory submissions, I will submit your site to a list of free directories. A human editor will approve the listing anywhere within a few days, a few weeks, a few months, and even up to a year. But once they approve these links, you have a link pointing to your site without having to point back at them (which creates link dilution, if that makes sense). You can also pay directories to point to your site and have them pointing at your site within days which is a lot better but can cost you upwards of $700 extra dollars just to get them.

Article Writing:

With the Article writing, we would basically create content based on your keywords and your niche to distribute out on the internet. The content can be about anything related to your products, business, and expertise. This generates content that is keyword rich and represents you as an expert of your field. Article writing has to be consistent to maintain an online presence within your niche.

Articles Distribution:

We can submit the articles to article repositories that again have a higher authority on the internet. Every time your article shows up and is pointing at your site, it will drive search engines to your site to continue to reapply the algorithm. It also continues to represent you as an expert and increases your authority on the Internet.

Social Bookmarking:

Now that we have the articles written and distributed, we will use social bookmarking sites like Digg.com to bookmark the sites where the articles show up and make people aware of your articles. These results also show up in the search engine which continues to drive traffic to your site, and drives search engines to your site which then reapplies the algorithm to your site.

Social Media Marketing:

Along these same lines we fall into Social Media Optimization. We will set up a blog at WordPress.com, an authority site (or on your site), to post the articles that we are distributing on the internet. Every time we post an article we will also make mention of it on the Twitter, FaceBook, and MySpace profiles. You will also utilize these three as reputation management tools. If people have issues with your company and make mention of it on these platforms, we will be available to provide a solution for them on those platforms.

A Squidoo lens is a little bit different. It serves as a landing page that will then redirect traffic to your site. Basically the whole premise is about generating traffic from other sources and pointing them all back to your site which in turn increases your sites authority.

Local Search Marketing:

The same thing goes for the local marketing. By submitting your site to the local sites for Google, Yahoo and MSN, you then create a higher authority for search results in your area. This won’t necessarily apply to out of market results but will strengthen your in market results.

You can also add other important information like your location and contact information. You will also show up on map search results making it easier for people to find you. People will also be able to write reviews and such.

Again the purpose for all of this is to promote and drive traffic to your site.
